Neuengamme was the largest concentration camp in north-west Germany from 1938 to 1945 and in this period at least 42.900 people were killed there. The area is huge and a must-see for anyone.
We will have a 3-hour guided tour held in english, including a thematic introduction and a tour through different sites on the Memorial grounds. The area is very impressive and huge, so make sure to bring comfortable shoes and warm clothing as we’ll spend some time outside as well.
Meeting Point is S Bergedorf at the Bus Terminal (upstairs!), from where we will hop on the bus to the Memorial Site. The bus is only going once an hour, please make sure that you’ll be in Bergedorf at 10.50am. If you take the train from central station (S21 to Bergedorf/Aumühle) at 10:24am at the latest, you should arrive on time.
