Join us for the Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial on Saturday!
Toward the end of the semester you have the chance to learn a little bit about German history with ESN. We booked a guided tour especially for us!
On January 27th 1945, prisoners of the NS-regime in the Auschwitz concentration camp were liberated by Soviet troops. In commemoration of the “International Holocaust Remembrance Day” you can join us for a three-hour project at the Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial in the southeastern part of Hamburg. This includes a thematic introduction and a tour of different sites on the Memorial grounds. In addition to the main exhibition and the former prisoners’ barracks and other parts of the grounds (e.g. the brick factory, the branch canal or the commandant’s house), the International Monument and the House of Remembrance can also be explored. You can find more information about the exhibitions here:
The guided tour ends at 4 p.m. Feel free to join us for coffee, cake and discussions afterward!
Please note: Part of the tour is going to take place outdoors…please be prepared for cold and rainy weather.
