The ESNcard is a promotional offer for all exchange students who plan to enjoy their time abroad to their fullest. More information can be found on esncard.org.

 

Why you should get it: The ESNcard gives you access to multiple discounts on esncard.org for a whole year!

We have partnerships with various organisations, including Hostelling International, Logitech, Flyla and Ryanair* (*conditions apply, partnership will end 15th June 2020).

Also, while you’re in Hamburg ESNcard holders get a discount for almost all our events. If you plan to attend our excursion to Flensburg, the Ratsherrn Brewery or our trip to Heidepark you should definitely consider it.

 

Who can get it:

  • Incoming ERASMUS+ students & trainees  & ERASMUS (MUNDUS) degree students

  • International incoming students or trainees on a mobility program, other than Erasmus+

  • International undergraduate or postgraduate full degree students

  • EVS participants

  • ESNers: either active on the Local, National or International Level. They are all members of a section

This applies to everyone who does their exchange in Hamburg and the surrounding area e.g. if you are enrolled in Barcelona and do your exchange in Bremen you can purchase a card from ESN Hamburg. If you do your exchange somewhere else in Germany, please first talk to your closest ESN section.

For students from Hamburg, Kiel, Flensburg, Bremen,... who want to buy a card and are going on their exchange next semester please contact your receiving section e.g. if you are from Hamburg and plan an exchange semester in Barcelona you should contact the ESN section of Barcelona which will be resposible for you. You can find your receiving ESN section on the offical ESN webside.

If there is no ESN section in your receiving institution/city, please contact the ESN section closest located to the city of your exchange / internship.

The ESNcard is internationally recognized by ESN, so we will accept every valid ESNcard at each of our events.

How to get it: If you are eligible for an ESNcard you can buy it for 10 € and you can get it

1) at one of our events starting March/April for the summer term and October for the winter term or
2) at the TUHH AStA Office (address on the bottom of the page). Please note: You have to get an appointment for picking up your ESNcard! Please write an e-mail to sekretariat@asta.tuhh.de. Their opening times are Mo, Tu, Th & Fr 9-11 am (AStA stands for general student association, it is not just ESN).

 

Be advised: We do not ship ESNcards via letter (no exceptions). 

Required documents for purchase:

Exchange students:  student ID & prove of mobility status (digital copy of your learning agreement (LA) or a similar official document e.g.letter of university).

Trainees:  student ID & prove of mobility status (internship contract, ERASMUS scholarship or similar).

Full degree international students: student ID & prove of non-German nationality

IMPORTANT: If you are going to visit the AStA in a larger group (more than 4 people), please contact the AStA in advance (Adressat: ESN-Office) and call its office during its opening hours to check whether the office will be staffed (+49 40 42878 4160).

Also, you will need a passport photo of yourself for the ESNcard. We recommend to use passport-photo.online to meet all requirements.

Your information will not be passed onto third parties and only be used for authentication within the ESN organisation.

Don't forget to bring a copy of your LA (or similar document).
